据悉，安乡淡水珍珠养殖面积居全国首位。而洞庭湖畔没有形成任何珍珠市场及加工制造产业，所有珍珠都必须经长途运输到江浙地区加工，大量的商机和利润流失在周转成本中。安乡县政府与美国珍珠批发商斯腾珠宝集团合作，使安乡珍珠直接打入国际市场与世界产业链条接轨
